SGS Canada, Mississauga, New Heat Pump Makeup Air Unit, 2022
Comfort Care Inc. completed the supply, installation, and commissioning of a rooftop make-up air unit for SGS Canada’s laboratory facility in Mississauga, Ontario. The new Rupp Air 5,000 CFM unit features variable-speed control (VFD), modulating heating and cooling, and BACnet MSTP integration for seamless operation with the facility’s Building Automation System (BAS). The unit provides 20 tons of cooling and 500 MBH heating capacity with a stainless-steel heat exchanger, dual-stage filtration (MERV 13), and stainless-steel drain pan for long-term reliability and clean air performance.
The project scope included roof structural reinforcement design and execution, crane rigging and unit replacement, system startup and commissioning, and BAS integration with custom graphics, trending, and software interlocks tied to the laboratory exhaust system. A third-party certified Test and Balance (TAB) was conducted to verify performance and airflow calibration.
Delivered on schedule and fully commissioned, the project demonstrates Comfort Care Inc.’s expertise in laboratory ventilation systems, energy-efficient HVAC solutions, and complex BAS integrations.
